About Oakville Preschool

Every child is important and unique. Oakville Preschool Learning Centre helps and supports your child to develop independence and selfworth. Appreciating and celebrating each child's individuality and assisting them on the road to success.

Oakville Preschool Learning Centre is privately owned and operated and has been operating in Oakville for over 18 years. The centre was renovated and expanded in 2003 and our new outdoor adventure playground was opened in January 2005.

Licenced for 44 children a day with ages ranging from 2-5yrs.

The preschool operates as two rooms and each room follows an age appropriate program.

The centre program supports early reading, early writing, science, maths, computers, fine and gross motor development and agriculture, all encouraged through fun interactive hands on experiences. A large emphasis is placed on inclusion, self esteem, health and safety.

A highly interactive environment including computers, listening centre, bike track, sandpit, baby animal pen, fort and market garden ensure a variety of activities to stimulate all areas of your child's development.

"Large shade structures protect your child while they play outside."

Programming

At Oakville preschool, we have chosen to adopt the emergent curriculum approach to programming. This method sees the child's focus as primarily important and requires teaching to be creative, fun and stimulating for the teacher and for the child. Emergent curriculum has a potential for empowering young children and developing feelings of self worth, as it takes the child's interest and turns it into a learning process.

Parent Involvement

Parent involvement is encouraged and appreciated. Parents know their children intimately and the information they can provide regarding their child is crucial if we are to offer a service that can best meet each child's individual needs. Parents are encouraged to become part of Oakville Preschool Learning Centre by providing detailed information concerning their child and by offering input into all areas of the centers program.
